Design Advantage has been trading since October 2005. We are based in Canterbury, Kent, UK. In 2006, we were awarded the Buy With Confidence award by Kent Trading Standards, and were the first design agency to be awarded the accreditation. In 2007, we were Highly Commended when we entered for the Kent Sustainable Business Awards, competing against some big name businesses.

Design Advantage ensure that you get the best possible return on investment for your design, marketing or website requirement. Each piece of work we undertake is bespoke. We do not use templates. We work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally for a wide range of customers.

We are able to fuse expert design skills and lateral conceptual thinking into the work we undertake. Applying these core skills with existing and emerging technologies ensures that we can produce state-of-the-art services for our clients and customers. However, if you need a plain and simple design with fewer bells and whistles we can do that too.

Design Advantage are particularly interested in ethical and environmental issues, and we are developing processes and capabilities that allow us to offer more progressive eco-friendly choices to our customers. Please read through our Eco policy.

A HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY

Leon (our Creative Director and owner of Design Advantage) has worked in the website and graphic design business since 1995. He has designed and developed services for the internet since its very early stages, and has worked on some very high-profile work during the 'boom and bust' period between 1997-2002. He produced graphic design and website services for clients including Demon Internet, Diner's Club International, Cliff Richard Organisation, the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), MediaVest (DMB&B), Teltek Open Capital, E-Street ID, Beverley Cobella, New Music Television, Easyspace and many more.

After being made redundant from a leading agency in Brighton when it went bust, Leon produced some work on a freelance basis for other design and new-media agencies in the South East region of England. Work was commissioned for Pizza Hut, Coca Cola, Dowlis, Toshiba, Betty Crocker and others.

Leon decided to start Design Advantage in 2005. Since then, Leon and Sue have steadily been building Design Advantage, forging new alliances with like-minded creative and technical people and specialising in brand, identity, Flash animation and website interface work. They moved from Dorking in Surrey to a lovely village in Kent, between Canterbury and Ashford, in 2007.  In addition to this going on, they became tired-looking parents to their beautiful fresh-faced daughter in the summer of 2008. It's okay, they are getting some sleep again now!

Each of our customers comes to us with a diverse range of requirements but they all want to be treated with respect, listened to and have their requirements met even if they are not quite sure what they are! We are there to help.

Don't worry if you don't know how to write a brief for a graphic designer, we probably don't know how to do your job either. We can sit down and have a chat about what you need and work out the brief from there. We can raid our cupboard of creative juices, and talk over some ideas while enjoying some organic fairtrade coffee, or loose leaf tea if you prefer.

We were the first Graphic and Web Design agency to gain this award in the country.  We take customer satisfaction very seriously and in the unlikely event of any customer complaints we would follow an agreed procedure, including possible mediation with Trading Standards if necessary.  We were the first Graphic and Web Design business in the UK to join this scheme and needless to say we have not needed any mediation support.
